Colette Marcella Sandleback, 93, of Prairie du Chien, passed away October 2, at Crossing
Rivers Hospital in Prairie du Chien. She was born February 9, 1923 in Seneca and was
the daughter of Francis and Orella (Cox) Layde. She married Louis Elmer Sandleback on
September 25, 1946 at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church in Prairie du Chien. He preceded
her in death on December 18, 1985. She has been retired for many years but she worked as a bookkeeper for a local business, Midwest Speaker in McGregor, lA, One Hour Martinizing, the Gingerbread House and the Pilot House all in Prairie du Chien. Colette had also been an active member of St.Gabriel's Church. She is survived by her children, John (Dolly) Sandleback of LaCrosse WI, Rodney (Linda) Sandleback of Hartford, WI, Colleen (Eugene) Bouzek of Prairie du Chien, WI and Nancy Sandleback of Madison, WI, her younger brother Thomas (Dorothy) Layde of Dickeyville, WI, seven grandchildren, nine great grand children, nieces and nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five sisters, two brothers, five brother-in-laws, one sister-in-law, and nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, Octobher 7, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Gabriel's Church of the Holy Family Parish, Rev. James Weighner officiating with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery both in
Prairie du Chien. Friends may call at the church on Friday, October 7, 2016 from 9:30 AM until the time of services.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Prairie Catholic Schools.
