Connie L. Franklin age 68 of Prairie du Chien passed away Thursday, December 14, 2017 due to complications from frontal temporal dementia.  She was born the sixth child of Ellsworth and Kathryn (Williams) Shockley on September 1, 1949 in Dodgeville, WI.  Connie married Ronald Franklin on May 15, 1971at St. John’s Lutheran in Avoca, WI. Two sons, Jason and Josh blessed their lives and were raised in Madison, WI. Connie went on disability retirement in 2002 due to her disease, after 35 years of working for the State of Wisconsin. She was an active member of the Eagles Club Auxiliary in Prairie du Chien.  She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Ron, her sons, Jason (Renee Holler) and Joshua (Jessica) Franklin, her pride and joy,  a grandson Roman Franklin, her sisters, Nancy Williams and Naomi (Roger) Kingery, her brothers, Richard, Ed and Jerry Shockley along with her nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Helen Scullion.

Funeral services will be Monday, December 18, 2017 at 11:30 AM at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel in Prairie du Chien, with Deacon Pat Malanaphy officiating.  Interment will be in the Rock Church Cemetery in Livingston, WI.  Friends may call on Sunday, December 17, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the services on Monday at the funeral home.
