Cordelia R. Morales age 62 of Prairie du Chien passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at the Mayo Clinic Health System in LaCrosse, WI.  She was born May 17, 1955 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Richard and Cordelia (Grey) Essick.  She married Joseph Morales on October 20, 1973 in Chicago.  She worked as a nurse’s aide and later for Brown’s Chicken in Chicago.  Cordelia later worked in the bakery for Wal-Mart in Prairie du Chien.  She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Joseph Morales and their daughter Gloria Ann (Raymond) Slawinski both of Prairie du Chien, her son Joseph Martin Jr. of Chicago, her brothers, John Nelson and Russell Essick both of Houston, TX, and Richard Essick of Chicago, her grandchildren, Jessica, Susan, Joseph and Raymond.  She was preceded in death by her daughter Cordelia, her son Marcus, her parents and a sister Carol Nelson.

A private family inurnment will be held at a later date. The Morales family will be receiving friends at their home located in Homesteader Court; 41 Joyce Avenue in Prairie du Chien, WI after 12:00 PM on Friday, August 4, 2017.
