Gilbert E. “Gib” Weber age 86 of Glen Haven passed away Thursday, September 1, 2016 at the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse, WI after an extended illness. Gib was surrounded by his wife and family at the time of his passing. He was born February 24, 1930 in Bloomington, WI the son of Anton and Frances (Wegmann) Weber. He married Phyllis Wright on June 12, 1950 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bloomington. Together he and his wife farmed near Beetown, WI. Gib served on the Beetown Town Board and as a chairman for many years. Gib enjoyed family gatherings, playing cards and deer hunting. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Phyllis of Prairie du Chien, his children, Steven (Carol) of Mankato, MN, Laurie (David) Doll of Wauzeka, WI, Teresa (David) Moris of Glen Haven, Philip (Troy Newton) of Portsmouth, VA, Deanna (Bill) Rodenkirch and Dr. Alan Weber both of Prairie du Chien, WI, Debra (Mark) Sullivan of Plymouth, MN, his brother Joseph of Greenville, SC, his sisters Betty Junk of Cassville, WI and Mildred Olson of Fennimore, WI, 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Leo (Florence) and Brother Alfred Order of Carmelites along with his sister Lorraine (Linus) Osterhaus and sister in law Betty Weber and brother in law Loren Junk.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bloomington, WI with Rev. John Meinholz officiating. A private family interment will be later in the Dodge Cemetery in Beetown, WI. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 from 9:00 AM until the time of services. The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.
