Irene E. Mohoney age 82 of Prairie du Chien passed away peacefully on June 7, 2017 after a long illness.  She was born November 17, 1934 in Richland County, WI the daughter of Edward and Albina (Roh) Bomkamp.  She married Kenneth Mohoney on November 5, 1955 at St. Wenceslaus Church in Eastman, WI.  Irene had a passion for gardening, attending her beautiful flower beds, her various collections, and taking care of her family.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and will be remembered for her heart of gold. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Kenneth, two children Edward and Connie (Jerry) Jones all of Prairie du Chien, grandchildren Jesse Jones of LaCrosse, Daniel Jones of Prairie du Chien and Cody Mohoney of Farmington, MN, six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Monday, June 12, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. James Weighner officiating, with burial in the Calvary Cemetery both in Prairie du Chien.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of services.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
