Keith K. Werger age 73 of Prairie du Chien passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at the Guttenberg Care Center, Guttenberg IA.  He was born November 6, 1943, the son of August and Zala (Palmer)Werger.  He married Carla Goodman on August 22, 1964, who preceded him in death on December 29, 2007. Keith worked in maintenance for Holy Family Parish in Prairie du Chien for many years. Prior to that he worked for Ryser Brothers Inc. and as the manager of Petrolane Gas Company in Mt. Horeb, WI.  Keith was a hard worker, but the love of his life was his family.

  He is survived by his children, Bradley (Lisa) Werger of Wausau,WI, Angela (Kevin) Hefty and Brian (Tracy) Werger both of Mount Horeb, WI, sisters, Joyce Backes and Jan (Carroll) Oleson both of Garnavillo, IA and Jeanette Dryer of Worhtington, IA, in laws, Ron (Dianne), Kathy, Robert and Randy Goodman, Cathy (Roger) Mahan along with his seven grandchildren, Peter and Sam Hefty, Mitch Werger, Alexis and McKenzi Walters, and Paige and Ben Werger.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his brother Charles, and brothers in law, Jim, Larry, Greg, Roger Goodman, Vincent Dryer and Royce Backes.

A memorial service will be Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 10:30 AM at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel in Prairie du Chien with Deacon Patrick Malanaphy officiaiting.  Inurnment will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Prairie du Chien.  Close friends and family may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of services.  “Be careful crossing the railroad tracks!”
