LaVon A. David,age 92 of Prairie du Chien WI, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the Prairie Maison Care Center. She was born February 26, 1924 in Cassville, WI, the daughter of Lee (George) and Madeline (Kartman) Garner.  She married Lawrence Henry David on August 5, 1948, in Cassville, WI.  LaVon is remembered for her love of gardening, quilting, playing cards and family genealogy research and was active in church.  She and her husband took many vacations in and outside the United States which included family visits. She attended cosmetology school in Dubuque, IA and was a long time beautician in PDC at the Cut n Curl beauty shop. She was preceded in death in May, 2012 by her husband of 64 years, Lawrence.   Her children survive: Larry (Kris) David of Milwaukee, WI; Lynn (John Glebs) David of St. Louis, MO; Leslie (David Bowar) David of Parsonsfield, ME; Lyle David of Oregon, WI; LuAnn (Dan) Lipke of Waukesha, WI; Layne (Susan) David of Prairie du Chien, WI; Lisa (Tom) Peterson of Prairie du Chien, WI; Lori (Mike) Theine of Pleasant Prairie, WI and 11 grandchildren.  LaVon is also survived by sister, Lois (Garner) (Ron) Case of Holt, MI and sister-in-law, Rita (Pottebaum) Garner (Stanley).

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Gabriel’s Church of the Holy Family Parish, Rev. James Weighner officiating with interment in the Calvary Cemetery, both in Prairie du Chien.  Friends may call at the church on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 from 8:30 AM until the time of services.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Prairie Catholic Schools.
