Lola M. (Borgedahl) Nash

July 25, 1929 ~ July 28, 2016 (age 87) 87 Years Old


Lola M. (Borgedahl) Nash, 87, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at the Atrium Post Acute Care Center of Lancaster after a long illness. She was born on July 25, 1929 to Sygrid and Dena (Grimsled) Borgedahl on the family farm in rural Ferryville, WI (which is currently Sugar Creek Bible Camp). She was baptized and confirmed at Utica Lutheran Church. She attended high school in Gays Mills. She married Samuel Nash in 1947 and raised five children. During this time, she attended church at Freeman Lutheran Church in Ferryville and St Peter’s Lutheran Church in Prairie du Chien, WI.
In addition to being a farm wife and homemaker, she worked in several restaurants as a cook, and at 3M from 1965 until she retired in 1991 to care for grandchildren. Later she returned to work for another 13 years at WalMart and permanently retired in 2006.
She loved to play bing, strawberry shakes from Hardee’s, old records from singers gone by,writing in her jouranals and feeding the ducks at the Villa Louis pond. Her most prized possessions were her grandkids and her pictures from days long ago.
She is survived by 3 sons and a daughter: Randy of rural Ferryville, Curtis of Menomonee Falls and Terry (Cheryl) Nash of Trempealeau and 1 daughter Jill (Jeff) Henry of Prairie du Chien; 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Darlene (Peter) Hamilton of Belvidere, IL and sister-in-laws, Gloria Borgedahl of LaCrosse and Juanita Nash of Madison. She was preceded in the death by her parents, her sons John and Dale, and her ex-husband Samuel Nash; her sister DeLaura Nelsen, brothers Thorvald and Trygve Borgedahl. Also preceding her in death was a very favorite Aunt Ann Emerson and her daughter-in-law Mary (Coorough) Nash, and a granddaughter Courtney Nash
According to Lola’s wishes a private family funeral service will be held at the Garrity Funeral Home with interment in the Evergreen Cemetery both in Prairie du Chien, WI.
