Susan J. Mara age 51 died unexpectedly Saturday, May 4, 2013 at her home.  She was born January 16, 1962 in Prairie du Chien, WI the daughter of Joseph and Janice (Trautsch) McGrath.  She married Gary Mara on April 24, 1993 in Prairie du Chien.  Sue worked at 3M Company in Prairie du Chien for 15 years and was currently a health unit coordinator for the Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital.  She loved her job and all the people she worked with.  She was a huge football fan and loved the Minnesota Vikings.  Sue was active in the Vikings Children Fund and the founder of the “Bucket List Babes”.  She was very caring and family oriented, willing to do anything for anyone in need.  She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Gary Mara of Eastman, her daughters, Breanna (Robert) Callahan of Fennimore, WI and Misty (Eric) Burton of Palmyra, WI her son Kurt (Jessica Noggle) Mara of Edgerton, WI, her parents, Joseph (Rose) McGrath of Dennison, MN and Janice (Hazel Hanson) McGrath of Fredericksburg, TX, mother in law Cecelia Mara of Eastman,  sisters, Sherri (Tom) Langfeldt of Fairbault, MN, Debbie (Pat) Wagner of Northfield, MN and Cindy (Steve) Smith of Bloomington, MN, a grandson Sean Mara, many nieces, nephews, loving aunts, uncles and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Harry and Edna Trautsch, her paternal grandparents, Joseph and Alice McGrath and her father in law Frank Mara.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Rev. Thomas Huff officiating, with burial in the National Cemetery both in Eastman, WI.  Friends may call on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
