My dear Cousins,
My prayers and thoughts are with you. I am Mattie and Leona Scheckel's youngest child. My Aunt Carrie was way ahead of her time. She was a fashionable lady who loved her family and having a good time. I have a video of her pushing Dad in HER wheelchair while he is playing the accordion in the Springbrook church basement. During one of Wes's parents' visits, she purchased a mink stole in Iowa and had it shipped to their home in Wisconsin. I told her that Uncle Tony would find out. "He can't hear well," she said. I told her, "But he CAN see." Wes and Vi were so respectful of their uncles and aunts: they came to visit often. Mom would fix sausage and many other finger-licking good foods. I know they are rejoicing together. Please keep in touch. I live in San Pablo, CA, close to San Francisco. Take care and God bless!

As you already know your dad was such an awesome guy and you were truly blessed to have him as your father. I was so honored to get to him and I loved his sweet smile and personality. I loved walking into the breakfast area and I would say something smart to him and he would just grin and quietly chuckle. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers, I am sure it is a comfort your Mom and Dad are reunited once again. God Bless
