Faye E. (Paulus) Johnson

Faye Ellen Johnson, age 69 of Prairie du Chien passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at her home, lovingly surrounded by her family.  She was born May 17, 1951 in Prairie du Chien, WI the daughter of Joseph ‘Pep’ and Irene (Ariss) Paulus.  She married Kenneth C. Johnson on May 1, 1976 at St. John’s Church in Prairie du Chien.  She worked for Crawford County as the Deputy Treasurer for 27 years and most recently at The Casino Queen for 15 years. 

Faye was an excellent cook and hard worker.  She enjoyed preparing delicious meals for her family for all occasions including mountains of Christmas Cookies!  Faye was also a talented artist that enjoyed many years and countless hours creating ceramics with her sisters and good friends.  Each year she enjoyed filling her yard with gorgeous flowers for all to enjoy.  She was passionate about decorating for each holiday both inside and outside her home.  Most of all, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who took pride in her family.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years Kenneth; her children: Joseph (Aubrey), Jessica (Alex) Del Vecchio, Kent (Kira), grandchildren: Josey, Joseph Jr., Carson, Arianna, Hunter, Bentley, and Archer, brother: Dennis (Sharon) Paulus, sisters: Diane Sime and Luann Paulus, brother in law, Gary McKillip, and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Mary McKillip and a special aunt, Wilma Larson.

A Graveside Service will be Saturday November 28, 2020 at 10:30 AM with inurnment in the Calvary Cemetery in Prairie du Chien, WI, Monsignor Charles Stoetzel officiating. In Lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.  The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.
