Bernice M. Welsch age 91 of Prairie du Chien passed away Monday, August 14, 2017 at the Prairie Maison Care Center.  She was born October 29, 1925 in Prairie du Chien the daughter of Walter and Anna (Tisthammer) Olson.  She married Charles Welsch on June 23, 1951 at St. Peter’s Church in Prairie du Chien.  Chuck preceded her in death on January 15, 1995.  Bernice worked at Geisler’s Blue Heaven and later retired from 3M Company in Prairie du Chien after 22 years of service.  She was an active member of St. Peter’s Church and the Lions Club.  Bernice was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing cards.  She is survived by her daughter Susan Bahls and her son Bruce Welsch both of Prairie du Chien, her grandchildren, Donavan (Cindy) Bahls and their children Danielle and Ben, Melissa (Matthew) Heberlein and their child Jack, Jeffrey Bahls and his child Makenna Puckett, Brittany Stovey and her children Tucker and Lexton.  Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a son in law Sidney Bahls.

Funeral services will be Friday, August 18, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Peter’s Lutheran Curch, Pastor Joe Irvin officitiang, with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery both in Prairie du Chien.  Friends may call at the church on Friday from 9:00 AM until the time of services.  The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.  www.garrityfuneralhome.com
