Birdie M. (Clark) Meng

Birdie M. Meng age 98 of Bagley passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at the Grant Regional Care Center.  She was born March 3, 1920 in Wyalusing Township the daughter of Verdie and Amelia (Cathman) Clark.  She married Edward Meng on February 24, 1940 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Dubuque, IA.  Together they farmed most of their lives in the Bagley area.  Birdie was an active member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Bagley, The Royal Neighbors of America and the American Legion Auxiliary.  She is survived by her sons, LaVern (Nancy) and Dale (Nancy Reiss) both of Jefferson, WI, and Robert of Bagley, 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, her sister in law Myrna Clark of Lancaster.  She was preceded in death by her brothers Ralph, Alva, Ora and Harold, her sisters, Thelma, Mabel, Violet and Nina along with a grandson Steven.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 12:00 PM at the Zion Lutheran Church, Rev. Pamela Strakeljahn officiating with burial in the Bagley Cemetery both in Bagley.  Friends may call at the church on Saturday, November 24, 2018 from 10:00 AM until the time of services.  In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the West Grant Rescue Squad or the Bagley First Responders.  The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family. www.garrityfuneralhome.com
