Cecelia M. (DuCharme) Mara

Eastman, WI

Cecelia M. Mara age 97 of Eastman, WI passed away Monday, August 27, 2018 at the Crossing Rivers Hospital in Prairie du Chien, WI. She was born February 10, 1921 in Eastman, WI, daughter of Amos and Sophia (Ocenosak) DuCharme.  She married Francis Mara on Aug. 24, 1943 at St. Gabriel's Church in Prairie du Chien, WI. Together they farmed in the Eastman/Wauzeka area most of their lives. Cecelia was an active member of St. Wenceslaus Church, enjoyed playing rummy, crocheting, quilting, and scratching off an occasional lottery ticket.  Frank preceded her in death on November 4, 2002.  She is survived by 3 sons; Peter of Eastman, Gary  (Melanie Fisher) and Randy (Barb) both of Wauzeka, WI, 6 daughters; Mary (Gerald) Krachey and Jeanne (Lyle) Enke both of Wauzeka, WI, Jan Rutter of Prairie du Chien, WI, Kathy (Jim) Degnan and Sandy (Tom) McCullick both of Wauzeka, WI and Gayle (Jesse) Aspenson of Prairie du Chien, WI, 21 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren with one on the way, 5 step great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers, Richard, Lawrence, Ivan and Frank DuCharme, sisters, Martha Mara, Helen Pellock, Ethlyn Rienks, Rita Wagner, a son in law Jerry Rutter, a daughter in law Sue Mara, and two great great grandchildren Brynn Katherine and Amber Lynn Enke.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday August 31, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Eastman, WI, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday August 30, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien, WI, where there will be a parish rosary at 7:30 PM and at the church on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of services.  In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred, and will be donated to some of Cecelia’s favorite charities.  The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family. www.garrityfuneralhome.com
