Edward C. Zach age 84 of Prairie du Chien passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at the Crossing Rivers Hospital in Prairie du Chien following an extended illness. He was born February 6, 1933 in Bloomington, WI, the son of Lawrence and Frances (Kirschbaum) Zach.  He was a 1950 graduate of Bloomington High School.  He married Kay Zimpel on February 27, 1957.  Together they farmed near Glen Haven, WI. Ed enjoyed playing cards and fishing.  He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Kay of Prairie du Chien, a son Ronald (Darcy) of Dodgeville, WI, his daughters, Debra (Joel) Warren of Cedarburg, WI, Sharon (Bill) Kluesner of Bloomington, WI and Sandy (Todd) Nichols of Prairie du Chien, brother in law Art Jelinek of Janesville, WI, 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Lorretta Jelinek.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, October 9, 2017 at 10:30 AM at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church of the Holy Family Parish with interment in the Calvary Cemetery both in Prairie du Chien, WI.  Friends may call on Sunday, October 8, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Garrity Funeral Home and at the church on Monday from 9:30 AM until the time of service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and will be distributed to some of Ed's favorite charities.
