Florence A. Finney age 74 of Prairie du Chien passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at her home.  She was born August 13, 1940 in Prairie du Chien the daughter of Martin and Helen (Cejka) Mezera.  She married Ivan Finney on May 3, 1957 at St. John’s Church in Prairie du Chien.  Florence worked hard her entire life starting with her job at the Checkerboard, then McGregor Loudspeaker and later National Decorated Metals.  She retired from 3M Company in Prairie du Chien after nearly 32 years of service.  She was an active member of St. John’s and the Holy Family Parish.  She is survived by her children, Joseph (Brenda) of Marquette, IA, Belinda (Kim) Kottke of Prairie du Chien, Kevin (Annette) of  Monona, WI and Sheila (Randy) Fortier of Prairie du Chien, 4 sisters;  Catherine (Edward) Rauch of Dubuque, IA, Patricia (Elmer) Valley and Clara (Terry) Powers all of Prairie du Chien and Helen (Doug) Jelinek of Black River Falls, WI, 3 brothers; Clarence (Linda) and Ronald (Gail) Mezera both of Prairie du Chien and Raymond (Carol) Mezera of Belle Plain, MN, 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister Theresa (Frank) Langkamp, and her brothers, Edward, Frank and Andy Mezera.

A memorial service will be Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel,  Rev. Lynn  Schreck officiating, with interment later in the Evergreen Cemetery both in Prairie du Chien.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, December 6, 2014 from 12:00 PM until the time of services.
