Eastman, WI

Gerald D. “Jerry” Morovits age 59 of Eastman passed away unexpectedly Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the Crossing Rivers Hospital in Prairie du Chien, WI.  He was born November 24, 1957 in Prairie du Chien the son of Aloysius and Gertrude (Graser) Morovits. He grew up farming near Eastman. Jerry was a graduate of Seneca High School and later graduated from Southwest Technical College where he studied Agricultural Mechanics and Machine Tool.  He worked at Quality Wood in Prairie du Chien for 26 years as the head treater.  Jerry had also worked at Cabela’s for the past 10 years.  He is survived by his mother Gertrude of Eastman, his brothers, Gary (Marla) and Michael both of Eastman, his niece Kelly (Gary) Hamann and their children Gabriel and Reid of Seneca, WI along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, especially Debbie Morovits of LaCrosse, WI.  He was preceded in death by his father.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Eastman with Rev. Rajan Anandan officiating with burial in the church cemetery.  Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until the time of service.  The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.  www.garrityfuneralhome.com
