Joseph F. Novey

Prairie du Chien, WI

Joseph F. Novey age 94 of Prairie du Chien passed away Thursday, May 30, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family.  He was born April 30, 1925 in Prairie du Chien the son of Joseph and Mary (Fiala) Novey.  Joe served in the US Navy during WW II aboard an LST Boat.   He married Rosemary Rodenkirch on July 20, 1957 at St. Gabriel’s Church in Prairie du Chien. He worked as an electrician and was a member of the IBEW 14 of LaCrosse.  Joe loved fishing and spending time on the Mississippi.  He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Rosemary of Prairie du Chien, his son Bryan of Madison, WI his daughter Mary (Richard) Day of Prairie du Chien, his grandchildren, Alicia (Jeff) Zehner, Jeremy and Dustin along with his great grandchild Mercedes.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, John and Edward along with his sister Helen Kuchenbecker.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. Gabriel’s Church of the Holy Family Parish, Rev. James Weighner officiating, with burial in the Calvary Cemetery both in Prairie du Chien.  Military honors will be accorded by the Prairie du Chien Honor Guard.  Friends may call on Monday June 3, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien where there will be a wake scripture at 6:30 PM. www.garrityfuneralhome.com
