Lyle D. Bedward Sr. age 79 passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born July 27, 1938 in Prairie du Chien, WI the son of Richard and Mildred (Seely) Bedward.  He married Margaret Jelinek on November 16, 1963 at St. Johns Church in Prairie du Chien. She preceded him in death on July 3, 2008. Lyle served in the US Army.  Growing up he worked as a farmhand on several area farms.  He worked for Dodgeville Monuments and later retired from the Bancroft Dairy in Madison after 25 years of service. He is survived by 5 sons; Lyle (Stacey) of Green Bay, WI, Clint of Prairie du Chien, David of Boscobel, WI, Ted (Lori) of Deerfield, WI and Keith (Jesse) of Hollandale, WI, 2 daughters; Lyline (Joe) Kuckkahn of Blue River and Crystal (Bryan) Ziolkowski of Oconomowoc, WI, a  brother, Lloyd (Joanne) of Prairie du Chien, sisters, Janice (Ed) Mell of Sun Prairie, WI, Bernice (Ivan) Norton and Karen (Jim) Jelinek both of Madison, WI, sister in law Rocile Bedward of Cary, IL,  21 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, a daughter Annette Cortois, his parents and a brother Roger.
Funeral services will be Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 11:00 AM at United Methodist Church in Prairie du Chien, WI with burial in the Brodtville Cemetery in Patch Grove, WI. Military honors will be accorded by the Prairie du Chien Honor Guard. Friends may call on Friday, September 15, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 P.M. at the Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
