Marion Frances (Fournier) Garrity

Marion Frances Garrity age 82 of Prairie du Chien, WI, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004 at her
home. She was born June 11, 1922 in Minneapolis, MN, daughter of Benoit and Frances (Mulrean) Fournier.

She attended South High School in Minneapolis and later graduated from the University of Minnesota in Dental
Hygiene. She married Robert Garrity on Aug. 24, 1942. Her beloved husband of 55 years preceded her in death
on March 28, 1997. Together she and her husband owned and operated the Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie du
Chien for over 50 years. She was a longtime member of the Third Order Carmelites and a devout member of St.
John's Catholic Church. Marion was an avid bridge player and adored her children and grandchildren, regardless of some disappointments.  She is survived by 5 sons; Timothy of Waukesha, WI, Daniel (Karen) of Bloomington, MN, Kevin (Judy) of Logan UT, Michael (Wendy) of Prairie du Chien, WI, Maj. Brendan (Lisa) of Vacaville, CA, 5 daughters; Margaret Garrity of Malibu, CA, Bridget (Lee) Hettinger of Arlington Hights, IL, Sheila Garrity of LaCrescent, MN, Maura (John) Wehrenberg and Kathleen Garrity both of Prairie du Chien, WI, 32 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters; Jeanne Neill and twin sister Lois Hartin, along with a brother William Fournier.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004 at 10:30 A.M. at St. John's Catholic Church in Prairie du
Chien, WI, Rev. James Warosh S.J. officating, with entombment in the St. Francis of Assisi Mausolem in
LaCrosse, WI. Friends may call on Weds., Oct 6,2004 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Garrity Funeral Home in
Prairie du Chien, where there will be a wake scripture at 7:30 PM.
