Alice Marie (Snyder) Ohlert

Alice M. Ohlert age 80 passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at the Bluffhaven Assisted Living Center in Prairie du Chien.  She was born October 19, 1941, in Prairie duChien the daughter of Everett and Eula Mae (Hess) Snyder.  Alice married her high school sweetheart, Philip Cornford in 1958.  He preceded her in death in 1967.  She later married Martin Ohlert on February 10, 1974.  He preceded her in death on February 26, 2016.  Alice was a talented drapery seamstress and ran the Countryside Workshop for several years, contracting to area furniture stores.  Her passion was her plants, flower gardens and her greenhouse.  She was a great mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be sadly missed by all.  She is survived by her children, Russ (Nancy) Cornford, Randy (Cinda) Cornford, Robinlynn Fortier, Phillip (Penny) Ohlert and Bryon (Rachel) Ohlert, sister-in-law Lee (Don) Gordon, brother-in-law Tom (Bev) Cornford, 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband’s Philip and Martin, a sister Mary Sue Picha and a son in law Andrew Fortier.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be Tuesday, June 21, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel in Prairie du Chien.  A private inurnment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.  www.garrityfuneralhome.com
