Anna Mae Lessard, age 86 formerly of Prairie du Chien passed away Thursday, July 4, 2024, at home. She was born on March 18, 1938, to Elroy and Anola (Thomas) Berberich. Anna Mae married Kenneth “Pork” Lessard on August 24, 1957, at the United Methodist Church in Prairie du Chien and together, they raised 2 children. She worked as a cook for Campion Jesuit High School and the Convalescent Center, both in Prairie du Chien. She later worked locally as a caregiver for Lori Knapp for many years until retirement. She enjoyed gardening, stamping, making cards, and socializing with friends. She especially loved spending time with her family and grandchildren who call her OG. She also loved her grand-pets Snoopy and Gabby. She is survived by her daughter Kelly (Randy) Lindner; 1 brother Harold (Shirley) Berberich; sister-in-law Beverly Gagnon; 6 grandchildren Inanda (Austin), Anola, and Elijah Lessard, and Michael (Jeri Lynn), Mitchel, and Serena (Bryan) Lindner; 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Anna Mae’s husband Kenneth preceded her in death on December 24, 2006; also preceding her in death is their son Jeffrey Lessard. She was preceded by in death by her parents and siblings Wilma (Monroe) Gardner, Ruth (Jerry) Heike, and Royce Berberich.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at the United Methodist Church, Pastor Zachariah Bloom officiating with burial in the Calvary Cemetery, both in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund or Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
