Arlene M. Trautsch, age 77 of Prairie du Chien passed away unexpectedly at home Thursday February 16, 2023. She was born in Chippewa Falls, WI on January 15, 1946, the daughter of Buford and Ann (Lendle) Rowe. Arlene graduated from Chippewa Falls High School with the class of 1964 before going to work in Kenosha. While there, she met Ron Trautsch and they were later married on September 18, 1965 in Chippewa Falls. Together, they moved to Prairie du Chien where they raised their family. Arlene became an active member of her community, volunteering at the tourist information center, Gundersen Lutheran Clinic, as well as Prairie du Chien High School, where she helped sew costumes for their plays and musicals. Arlene was also a cook at B.A. Kennedy Elementary School before working full time at Spurgeon’s in Prairie du Chien. She then worked as a branch manager at Prairie City Bank for many years until retirement. Arlene was an avid Milwaukee Brewers fan and loved going to her grandchildren’s sporting events. She is survived by her husband of 57 years Ron; their three sons Brian (Shelly), Brad (Becky), and Mike (Deb); her siblings Karen Morovits, Kathleen Swatek, David Rowe, and Janice Rowe; her grandchildren Nicole (Jon) Winkleski, Emily Trautsch, Marisa (Tyler) Nichols, and Shane, Eric, Brett (Elizabeth), and Brooke (Will) Trautsch; her great-grandson Carson Nichols and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Jack Rowe.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, February 20, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at St. John’s Church of the Holy Family Parish, Msgr. Charles Stoetzel officiating with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery, both in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services.
