Arletta June (Hurda) Fischer

Arletta J. Fischer, age 84 of Prairie du Chien passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at The Sheridan at Park Ridge in Park Ridge, IL. She was born in Prairie du Chien, WI on July 15, 1939, the daughter of Joseph and Viola (Dreier) Hurda. She grew up in Prairie du Chien and graduated from Prairie du Chien High School with the class of 1957. Arletta married Dale Fischer on June 3, 1988, in Dubuque, IA. She worked as a buyer for the 3M Company for many years until retirement. Dale later preceded her in death on October 4, 2008. She was known as a classy lady who adored her family and friends. She loved The Statler Brothers, Diet Pepsi on ice, a great book, and her favorite color was pink. For years she and “the girls” would go to the gym, lunch, and lots of bus trips. She is survived by her daughter Kerry (David) Tantillo, grandchildren Roman, Leighton, and Lily Tantillo, and Walter (the family Maltese). She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister (and soulmate) Madonna Long.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery, both in Prairie du Chien. Friends may attend the visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service.
