Bernice Arlene (Myers) DuCharme

Bernice A. DuCharme, age 93 of Prairie du Chien passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien. She was born June 8, 1931, to Everett and Almyra (Shrake) Myers. She grew up near Brodtville, WI and graduated from Patch Grove High School with the class of 1949. Bernice married Harold DuCharme on January 30, 1950, at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church, and together they raised 4 children in Prairie du Chien. Bernice was an active member of St. Gabriel’s Church of the Holy Family Parish. She enjoyed rummaging and making the occasional trip to “the boat” in Marquette, IA. She loved her family and cherished her time spent in the company of her grandchildren. Bernice’s husband Harold preceded her in death on February 14, 1977. She is survived by 3 daughters Nancy DuCharme, Lynette (Kevin) Cecka, and Laurie (Bob) Radewahn; 6 grandchildren Megan (Andy) Rogers, Patrick (Annie) Cecka, Mollie, Katie, and Hanna Radewahn, and Zach (Beth) DuCharme; 1 great-granddaughter Liesel Rogers; daughter-in-law Andrea DuCharme; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son Neil DuCharme; and siblings Everett Myers and Norma Meier.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Gabriel’s Church of the Holy Family Parish, Fr. Brandon Guenther officiating with burial in the Calvary Cemetery, both in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the Mass. Bernice’s family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Gierke, Dr. Afzal, the entire nursing staff at Crossing Rivers in Prairie du Chien, and Bethany St. Joseph in La Crosse for their exceptional and devoted care.
