Carol B. (McKinney) Carroll

Carol B. Carroll, age 85 of Prairie du Chien passed away Sunday, August 16, 2020 at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien, WI. Carol was one of four children, born on September 9, 1934, the daughter of Boyd and Zelda (Willis) McKinney. She married Paul Jackley in 1957 and later divorced. To this union, there were 3 children, Jean (Dan) Blake, Forest (Darcy Ellis) Jackley, and Leatha (Dave Heisz) Jackley. Carol worked at Loudspeaker Component Corporation in Lancaster, WI for 20 years until her retirement. She enjoyed going to the fitness center, swimming, and volunteering at Hoffman Hall in Prairie du Chien. She also enjoyed yard work and conversations while sitting around her kitchen table. She would never turn down a game of Euchre with a cocktail and a good dance. Carol later married Charles “Red” Carroll in 1975. He preceded her in death in 1991. She also had a special friend, Bob Hyer who preceded her in death in 2007. Carol was unique in the way she was able to express herself with no filter but she was loved by all.

Carol is survived by her daughters Jean (Dan) Blake of Prairie du Chien, WI, Forest (Darcy Ellis) Jackley of Bloomington, WI, and Leatha (Dave Heisz) Jackley of Bagley, WI; grandchildren Jeremy Day, Ryne and Trevor Jackley, Zelda and Patrick Blake, Kevin Ploessl, great grandson Dylan David Day, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Myrna Welsh; her brothers George and Ken McKinney; her grandson Brody Jackley, sister in law Veronica McKinney and brother in law Donald Welsh.

A Celebration of Life will be August 29, 2020 at 1:00 PM outside her residence at 12393 County Road C, Prairie du Chien, WI 53821, everyone is invited. The family would like to thank the staff at Crossing Rivers Health for the wonderful care that Carol received during her time there.
