David Lee Wachter

David L. Wachter, age 75 of Prairie du Chien, WI, passed away on Monday, December 18, 2023, at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien.  He was born on June 22, 1948, in Prairie du Chien, the son of Donald and Madonna (Hill) Wachter.  David graduated Campion Jesuit High School in 1965 and attended UW-Madison while acquiring a master’s degree in agriculture.  He farmed for most of his life and worked as an Extension Agent for Grant County.  David enjoyed crossword puzzles, cooking, hunting, and fishing.  David was an avid golfer.  Most of all, David loved his family.  He is survived by his daughter, Christine (Craig) Najdowski, a son, Jeffrey (Carrie) Wachter, a sister, Mary Gulbrandsen, a brother, Richard (Louise) Wachter, 4 grandchildren: Molly and Maggie Najdowski, Iris and Eden Wachter, and numerous nieces and nephews.  David was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Carl Gulbrandsen.

A Celebration of David’s Life will be on Saturday, January 13th, 2024, at the Prairie du Chien Country Club from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M.  The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.
