Debra J. Zimmerman, age 67 of Patch Grove, passed away Monday, December 26, 2022, at Gundersen Hospital in LaCrosse, surrounded by her family, after a brief illness and the fight against cancer. She was born in Prairie du Chien, on November 10, 1955, the daughter of William “Bill” and Anna (Wagner) Quick. She grew up in Mt. Hope, where she graduated from West Grant High School in 1973. Debra met Steve (Tim) Zimmerman and were united in marriage on August 26, 1978, at Mt. Hope Methodist Church. Together they lived in Patch Grove, where they would raise their two daughters: Krista and Alisha. Debra worked for 47 years in banking between Fennimore and Lancaster, retired in April 2022. Debra loved to spend time with her family and collecting precious moment figurines. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Steve (Tim); two daughters Krista (fiancé Frank Cipra) Zimmerman of Prairie du Chien, and Alisha (Troy) Smrcina of Prairie du Chien; grandchildren Hunter and Autumn Smrcina. Also surviving are three sisters, Marjorie (Roger) White, Fennimore; Virginia (Bruce) Welsh, Blue River; and Kathy (Mark) Eggebakken, West Salem, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, December 31, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel in Prairie du Chien, Pastor Mary Ann Floerke officiating with burial in the Union Nagle Cemetery in Patch Grove, WI. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services.
