Donald E. Yanna

Donald E. Yanna, age 67 of Prairie du Chien, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at his home. He was born on September 23, 1958, to Roger and Marian (Robinson) Yanna. Don graduated from Prairie du Chien High School with the class of 1977 and began his career with Design Homes in Prairie du Chien. He later moved to Sheboygan, WI, where he worked for Alliant Energy at the Edgewater Generating Station in operations and maintenance and the store room for 25 years. Alliant Energy then promoted him to lead store keeper at the Nelson Dewey Generating Station in Cassville, WI for three more years until he retired. Don truly enjoyed the outdoors hiking, bicycling, gardening, and lawn work. He was an avid Green Bay Packer and Milwaukee Brewers fan and enjoyed watching the NCAA March Madness Basketball Tournament every year. He had an enthusiasm for motorcycles and collecting stamps and coins. In retirement Don cherished the opportunity to return home to Prairie du Chien to be near family, and care for his parents in their final years. Don was a hard worker who required little, but gave all of himself valuing family and friends over material things. His mind was quick and sharp and he was not bashful to share his wisdom with others. He had a great memory and a fascination with figures, dates and events and could recall them with ease. He thought the world of his niece Jessica, and nephew and godson, Bryan, and their children, respectively. He is survived by his brothers Kenneth (Nathalie) Yanna and Steven Yanna; niece Jessica (Nick) Pedretti and great niece Addison and great nephews Bryson and Hutson; nephew Bryan (Elizabeth) Yanna and great nephew Anthony. He was preceded in death by his parents.  

Funeral Services will be on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 12:00 P.M. at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel in Prairie du Chien, with burial in the Rock Church Cemetery, Livingston, WI. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.
