Elsie C. (Welsh) Cecka

Elsie C. Cecka, age 93 of Prairie du Chien, passed away Friday, August 10, 2018
at the Prairie Maison Nursing Home where she resided since May 2004.

She was born August 20, 1924, in Prairie du Chien, the daughter of Frank and Elsie
{Geisler} Welsh. She was living on the family farm on Irish Ridge when her mother
passed away at the young age of 39. Then the family moved into Prairie du Chien.
She graduated from Prairie du Chien High School in 1943. Among her places of
employment were the Tobacco Co., Bargain Boutique, 3-M, Pine Tree Inn, and the
Shopping News. Elsie married Louis Cecka on April 18, 1945, at St. Gabriel's
Catholic Church. They had one child: Arlene Cecka of Las Vegas, NV.

Elsie is survived by her daughter Arlene; two grandchildren: Vicky (Chris) Bladl
Milton, WI and Doug Mezera - Janesville, WI; two great grandchildren: McKenna
and Garrett Bladl.  She was preceded in death by her husband Louie on January 24, 1986, sisters, Betty (Byron) Freymiller, Leone (Donald) Peloch, Evelyn (Myron) Knoble, and Violet (Harry) Hamann, brothers Donald, Harvey and Loren Welsh.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Gabriel's Church of the Holy Family Parish, Rev. James Weighner officiating, with burial in the Calvary Cemetery both in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until the time of services.
