Erika (Preikschas) Dedrick

Erika Dedrick, 77, of Sauk City, WI passed away July 13th, 2023, with family by her side.  She was born to the late Edith Lesch on Aug 12, 1945, in Germany. Erika arrived in the United States with her mother and other family members in 1952, settling in Wisconsin. Erika is survived by her children and grandchildren who she loved deeply and was always very proud of; children Debbie (Jamie) Weitzel, Christena Dedrick, Dan (Katie) Dedrick, David (Elizabeth) Dedrick, and Corrina (Chad) McVay, and grandchildren Amber, Nathan, Mike, Matt, Taylor, Brooke, Benjamin, and Charlotte. She was preceded in death by her parents. Erika was loved by so many for her kind and caring soul. No matter what struggles she endured throughout her life, she stayed strong and pushed through with a positive light and always warmth in her heart. Her laughter was contagious and her most joyful moments were those when she was surrounded by close family. Most of Erika's life was spent raising and caring for her children. She worked as a school cafeteria cook for a few years then later in life ended her career as a home health aide in Prairie du Chien. Some of her favorite pastimes included visiting parks and gardens, traveling the country with her children, crocheting, journaling, and bird watching (especially for eagles along the Mississippi River!). She will be greatly missed and made such a positive impact on everyone she met. Her family would like to thank the SSM Health Hospice team that provided care in her final days. 

Private services will be held for close family and friends. Flowers may be sent to Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien on July 20th. Donations to Grace Lutheran Church, Prairie du Chien, where Erika was a dedicated member for many years, may be made in her honor. May Erika rest in peace now in God's arms.
