Florence Margaret Kozelka, age 101 of Seneca, WI passed away Monday September 12, 2022, at Soldier’s Grove Health Services. Florence was born on March 13, 1921, to Robert and Ethel (Shoemaker) Fisher. She attended Lynxville School until her marriage. She married Rudolph George Kozelka on January 26, 1938. To that union were 11 children, 34 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren and many great great-grandchildren. She raised her children while operating the farm. Her husband Rudolph preceded her in death on April 1, 1970, after which she rented out the farm and began her career as a cook at Seneca School District, a position she held for nearly 20 years. Florence took great pride in caring for the elderly in her community. She was an active member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Seneca, where she cared for the rectory for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, baking, sewing, and gardening. She also enjoyed making quilts to donate to local causes and made sure her family all had one of her quilts. Florence is survived by her 9 children Gloria Gorrell, Nancy Eddy, Ruthann Gudenschwager, Gary (Shirley) Kozelka, David Kozelka, Kathy (Harry Dean) Levendoski, Suzy Cooley, Liz (Ray Whiteaker) Kozelka, Maryann (Alan) Bark; 34 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, and several great great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister Ethel “Babe” Roberts. Besides her husband, Florence was preceded in death by her parents, her son James Kozelka and infant son Michael Kozelka; 2 grandsons; sons-in-law Ralph Gorrell, Art Eddy, Tim Stankus Sr., Phil Gudenschwager, and Kenny Cooley; daughter-in-law Kay Kozelka and her brothers Robert, Frederick “Fritz”, and Daniel Fisher and sister Delia Cooley.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, September 17, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Seneca, WI, Rev. Thomas Huff officiating with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Garrity Funeral Home on Friday, September 16, 2022, from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., where there will be a rosary at 8:00 P.M. Friends may also call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
