Francis P. Mezera age 64 passed away Mon., Sept. 17, 2007 at the Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital. He was born Aug. 20, 1943 in Prairie du Chien son of Martin and Helen (Cejka) Mezera. He married Jetta Russell on Feb. 26, 1965 in Prairie du Chien. He worked as a meat cutter for Kroger's in Kenosha, WI, and the A & P Store in Racine, WI. In 1976 he owned and operated Frank's Market in Eastman, WI. He later owned and operated Frank's Market in Prairie du Chien from 1985 to 1990. They later moved back to Kenosha where he worked at Kenosha Beef and finally retired from Modine Manufacturing in McHenry, IL He is survived by his wife Jetta of McGregor, IA, 4 sons; Richard (Amy) and Gary (Tammy) both of McGregor, IA, Brian (Rachel) of Waukon, IA and Kevin of St Augustine, FL, 5 brothers; Andrew, Clarence (Linda), Ed (Pat) and Ronnie (Gayle) all of Prairie du Chien, WI, Raymond (Carol) of Burnsville, MN, 6 sisters; Theresa (Frank) Langkamp of Holland, MI, Catherine (Edward) Rauch of Dubuque, IA, Florence (Ivan) Finney, Patricia (Elmer) Valley and Clara (Terry) Powers all of Prairie du Chien, and Helen (Doug) Jelinek of Black River Falls, WI, 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Service will be Fri., Sept. 21, 2007 at 11:00 AM at St. John's Catholic Church in Prairie du Chien, WI. A private family interment will be held at a later date. Friends may call on Thurs., Sept. 20, 2007 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien, where there will be a wake scripture at 7:30 PM.
