Franklin D. "Frank" Gilkes

Franklin D. “Frank” Gilkes, age 89 of Prairie du Chien passed away Sunday, June 29, 2025, at Prairie Maison in Prairie du Chein. He was born on October 13, 1935, to George and Viola (Yost) Gilkes. He married Margaret Valley on August 9, 1958, in Prairie du Chien. Frank’s wife of 59 years, Margaret preceded him in death on February 15, 2018. He is survived by his children Patrick Gilkes of Oshkosh, WI, Timothy, Julie, and Jeffrey Gilkes all of Prairie du Chien; grandchildren, Jason, Cory and Kasey, and great grandchild Presley Gilkes. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Michael Gilkes, brother Darrel Gilkes, and sister in law Karen Gilkes. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at Huckleberry’s Restaurant in Prairie du Chien with luncheon to follow. Private inurnment will be held at a later date in the Brodtville Cemetery in Wyalusing, WI.
