Frederick G. "Fritz" Moris

Frederick G. “Fritz” Moris, age 94 of Prairie du Chien passed away Monday, November 28, 2022, at Great River Care Center in McGregor, IA. He was born in Bloomington, WI on March 6, 1928, the son of Joseph and Susan (Mergen) Moris. Fritz married Darlene Collins on November 14, 1950, at St. Lawrence O’Toole Catholic Church in Mt. Hope, WI. He served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater. He worked as a salesman for Ed Phillips & Sons for many years until retirement. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing euchre and going to the casino. Fritz’s wife Darlene preceded him in death on December 9, 2020. He is survived by 2 sons Gregory and Jeffrey; 3 daughters Karen (Ray) Cornell, Kathy (Roy) Kossman, and Anita Moris; his siblings Larry (Judy) and Gerald (Scherrie) Moris, and Suzanne Boldt; 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Leo, Bernard, Joe, Paul, Charles, Raymond, and Robert Moris, and his sisters Theresa Bushnell, Mary Lou Sprosty, and Elizabeth Moris.   

A Memorial Service will be Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel, Msgr. Charles Stoetzel officiating with interment in the Calvary Cemetery, both in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services. Military Honors will be accorded by the Prairie du Chien Honor Guard.
