Gareth Francis "Gary" Delury

Gareth F. “Gary” Delury, age 88 of Prairie du Chien passed away Friday, January 12, 2024, at home surrounded by his family. He was born on May 3, 1935, the son of Roy and Marie (DuCharme) Delury. Gary married Joanne Esser on September 27, 1957, at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Prairie du Chien. Together, they raised 5 daughters in Prairie du Chien. Gary worked in landscaping and also worked for the 3M Company in Prairie du Chien for many years until retirement. He enjoyed woodworking and gifting his creations to his friends and family. Gary also enjoyed planting flowers, yardwork, and following the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. He was an active member of the Holy Family Parish in Prairie du Chien. He is survived by his wife Joanne; their daughters Karen Delury, Patty (Ken) Burnam, Peggy (Andy) Hanson, Connie Delury, and Kathy Dilley; twin brother Greg (Pat) Delury and 1 sister, Sister Antonice Delury O.S.F.; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Jim Delury.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, January 19, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at St. John’s Church of the Holy Family Parish, Msgr. Charles Stoetzel officiating with inurnment at a later date in the Calvary Cemetery, both in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Military Honors will be accorded by the Prairie du Chien Honor Guard immediately following the Mass.
