Geneva M. Pomerening, age 94 of Wauzeka, WI passed away Monday, September 22, 2025, at Bluff Haven in Prairie du Chien. She was born on September 23, 1930, to Charles and Elizabeth (Stluka) Klema. Geneva married Joseph Pomerening on November 5, 1949, in Wauzeka. Together, they raised their family on Shanghai Ridge between Eastman and Wauzeka. Geneva was a founding member of the Wisconsin Milk Market Board and an active member at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wauzeka for many years. Her husband Joseph later preceded her in death. She is survived by 4 sons Greg (Karol), Bruce, Jerry, and John (Kim); sister Anna Mae Krause; grandchildren Joseph, Sally, Mark, Ryan, Michael, Clair, and Kayla; 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son George; brothers Charles and Milton Klema; sisters Julia Sprosty, Stella Try, Lauretta Fisher, as well as an infant sister.
A Memorial Service will be Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Pastors Kevin Baker and Lynn Schreck concelebrating with burial in the Wauzeka Cemetery, both in Wauzeka. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Geneva’s family would like to thank the staff of Bluff Haven, Crossing Rivers Hospice, and St. Croix Hospice for the outstanding care they provided. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
