Gregory J. Meyers

Greg Meyers, beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly but dearly loved by his family and friends. Throughout his life, Greg wore many hats—working a variety of jobs that connected him with countless people and forged lifelong friendships. Whether it was at the La Crosse Speedway, on construction sites, or running his own lawn care business, Greg approached every role with dedication, heart, and a great sense of humor.

Outside of work, Greg was a passionate sports fan. He loved cheering on his favorite teams—the Milwaukee Brewers, the Milwaukee Bucks, and the Wisconsin Badgers—but his heart belonged to the Green Bay Packers. Greg never missed a game and was always eager to share the latest team updates and stats with anyone willing to talk football.

Greg also had a deep appreciation for the outdoors. Being near the water brought him true joy—whether it was the ocean breeze or the flowing currents of the Mississippi River, that’s where he felt most at peace.

Above all, Greg’s greatest pride and joy were his three daughters—Andrea, Kristen, and Taylor. He spoke about them often, beaming with pride over each of their accomplishments. He had a natural gift for making them laugh and feel loved, and they’ll carry countless memories and stories of their dad with them forever.

Greg is survived by his daughters: Andrea (Franklin) Fillbach, Kristen (Joel) Olson, and Taylor Meyers; his siblings: Cindy (Paul) Patros, Dan Meyers, Vickie Matyi, Jeff Meyers, and Doug Meyers; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Greg’s jokes, loyalty, and positive attitude—despite life’s challenges—will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 9-11am at the Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien, with private interment in the Bagley Cemetery. 

A celebration of life honoring Greg will follow the service on July 19th, from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at Backwater Bar & Grill and Waterfront Hotel (113 S Main St, Prairie du Chien, WI 53821) to share memories, laughter, and love.
