Holly J. (Jones) Wagner

Holly J. Wagner, age 64 of Lynxville, WI, died Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at her home after a long battle with cancer. Holly was born December 11, 1956, in Waukon, IA to Herman and Arlene (Fish) Jones. Holly was one of 15 children born to Herman and Arlene. At 15 years of age, she quit school to care for her younger siblings. Holly married Steve Wagner on April 26, 1975, and three children were born to this union. She had many jobs, some of which were McGregor Electronics, Wee Care, Sears, Annie's Hallmark, St Gabriel's School, Cabela's, and BP North. Holly also filled in as a Matron for the Crawford County Sheriff's Department. She was active in the De Soto School District as the play director, and she also organized field trips for the students. Holly then retired after working as head custodian at De Soto Schools. She was active in the lives of her students and cared for them deeply. She traveled the lower 48 states of America and several providences in Canada on the back of a motorcycle. She also traveled to Europe with her daughter Maisie. Holly liked going to garage sales, gambling, playing Yahtzee (at which she excelled!) and talking about the "good old days”. She was also a Girl Scout Leader in Prairie du Chien for many years. She is survived by her husband Steve; her children Melissa and Maisie; her twin sister Hope Garin; her nieces Cassy, Jessica, and Michelle; her sisters Helen and Shorty, and brothers Howard and Jake. She was preceded in death by her parents Herman and Arlene; her son Mark and niece Georgina; her sisters Harlene and Heidi.     

Funeral Services will be Monday, October 11, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel, Msgr. Charles Stoetzel officiating with burial in the Calvary Cemetery, both in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to a charity or organization of your choice.
