James A. Huber, age 89 of Steuben, WI passed away Saturday, November 29, 2025, at home surrounded by his family. He was born on February 18, 1936, to Zeno and Mildred (Riehle) Huber. James served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1963. He later worked at the power plant in Burlington, IA before working as an electrician and instructor at Southwest Technical College in Fennimore, WI. He also drove a school bus and semi-truck for several years. He was an avid hunter and loved watching his grandchildren in all their extra-curricular activities. Most nights in the summer he could be found at the ball field in Eastman with peanut m&ms or an ice cream treat. He is survived by his children Monica Huber, Jim Huber, John Huber, Mary Drake, Jerry Huber, Angie (Craig) Redman, Bob (Jennifer) Huber, Ronnie (Melissa) Huber, Matt (Rachel) Huber, and Anne Huber; sisters Helen Langreck, and Ruth and Grace Pavlovec; grandchildren Johnathon, Joe, Jeramiah, Jonah, Carson, Cohen, Arabella, Dax, Jordy, Jase, Kinley, Lahaina, Bode, Makenna, Hartley, Hadley, Huxley, Quentin, Ivy, Amelia, Bobby, Allen, Nick, Anthony, Connor, Jordan, Madelyn, Jimmy, and Karina; great grandchildren Mia, Braelynn, Brooks, Adalyn, Charlie, Cameron, Owen, Enzo, Sienna, Allen, and Brielle. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter Rose and son Joe; and multiple siblings. The family would like to thank Carly and Laura from St.Croix Hospice for the exceptional care they provided to Jim so that they could honor his wishes to be at home these last few months.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Eastman, WI, Fr. Chinnappan Pelavendran officiating, with military honors and burial in the St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Fort Atkinson, IA. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of Mass.
