Jeffrey D. Lessard

Jeffrey D. Lessard age 60 of Woodman passed away unexpectedly Monday, January 14, 2019 at Gundersen Boscobel Area Hospital.  He was born August 8, 1958 in Prairie du Chien, WI the son of Kenneth and Anna Mae (Berberich) Lessard.  Jeff was a published author of children’s books, syndicated articles and short stories about his life growing up on the Mississippi River.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was connected to the river. Jeff was a devoted father, grandfather, son and brother and will be sadly missed by all.  He is survived by his children, Inanda, Anola and Elijah Lessard, Arlan and Onie Boland and Georgia Breeser, his mother Anna Mae Lessard of Prairie du Chien, his sister Kelly (Randy) Lindner of Guttenberg, IA along with seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father.

A memorial visitation will be Monday, January 21, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel.  In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.  A celebration of Jeff’s life is being planned for a future date and will be held at the Lessard Shelter on St. Feriole Island in Prairie du Chien this coming summer.
