JoAnne Ellen (Cech) White

JoAnne E. White, age 85 of Prairie du Chien passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Bluff Haven in Prairie du Chien surrounded by her family. She was born in Prairie du Chien on May 27, 1939, the daughter of Paul and Irene (Gokey) Cech. She graduated from Prairie du Chien High School with the class of 1957. JoAnne married Jimmy “Jim” White on June 6, 1959. Together, they raised their family and worked in the community for many years. She and her husband owned and operated Excalibur Laundries.  She also started a local Slender Center fitness franchise where she worked for several years. JoAnne and her husband were the founders of the Children’s Ranch in Prairie du Chien. JoAnne’s husband Jim preceded her in death on March 10, 2014. She enjoyed socializing and playing cards with her friends at Bluff Haven. Her friends and family were most important to her in life. She is survived by her children Janan (Frank) Pisano and Jay (Julie) White; 1 sister Pauline Allen; 5 grandchildren Ronald (Jennifer) and Joanna Pisano, Grace (Josh) Ferries, Noah (Abby) White and Asa (Taylor) White; and 2 great grandchildren Greta and Carson Ferries. She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 sons Jeffrey and Jamie White.

Funeral Services will be Monday, July 8, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery, both in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Children’s Ranch or Community Health Services Foundation (Bluff Haven).
