Joan B. (Feeney) Check

Joan B. Check, age 86 of Prairie du Chien passed away Friday, October 1, 2021, at her home surrounded by family. She was born March 29, 1935, in Seneca, WI, the daughter of John and Mae (Cox) Feeney. She graduated from Prairie du Chien High School before going to work for the Crawford County Clerk’s office. She also worked at Montgomery Ward and Sears in Prairie du Chien for many years. Joan married Roger Check on June 6, 1957, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Prairie du Chien. She was an active member of St. John’s and helped in the Prairie Catholic library. She was also an active member of the local Jaycettes. She loved to cook and care for her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 64 years Roger; her sons Mark and Pat; her grandchildren Katie, Kelly, Cory, and Christopher; and her nephew Mike (JoAnn) Feeney. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her twin brother John Feeney.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, October 7, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. at St. John’s Church of the Holy Family Parish, Rev. Rajendran Anandan officiating with burial in the Calvary Cemetery, both in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call at the Garrity Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. and also at the church on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.
