Joyce Lillian (Kossman) Kozelka

Joyce Kozelka, age 81 of Prairie du Chien passed away Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien, surrounded by her family. She was born on April 27, 1943, to Richard and Rose (Beahm) Kossman. She married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life James Kozelka, on June 30, 1962, at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Prairie du Chien. Together, they owned and operated Jim’s Electric in Prairie du Chien for 40 years, where Joyce helped as secretary. She also helped in the school office at St. Gabriel’s Catholic School in Prairie du Chien for several years. Joyce loved her family, especially her grandchildren, whose games and events she would often attend. Joyce’s husband James preceded her in death on December 3, 2020. She is survived by 3 sons, Mark (Deborah), Michael (Cindy Jones), and Scott (Lisa); 2 brothers Rick (Angie) and Roy (Kathy) Kossman, and 1 sister Judith (Jim) Bailey; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Memorial Mass of Resurrection will be Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Gabriel’s Church of the Holy Family Parish, Fr. Brandon Guenther officiating with inurnment in the Calvary Cemetery.  Friends may call at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Mass.
