Karolyn A. (Deters) Gillitzer

Karolyn A. Gillitzer, age 82 of Prairie du Chien passed away peacefully on December 7, 2022, at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Baltimore, MD on May 13, 1940, the daughter of William and Carrie (Oswald) Deters. She graduated from Bagley High School with the class of 1958. Karolyn married Don Gillitzer on October 29, 1960, at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Prairie du Chien. Together, they raised their family in Prairie du Chien. Karolyn enjoyed baking, gardening, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband of 62 years Don; their son Mark (Susan); her twin sister Karen Candra; and her grandchildren Daniel, Nicholas (Jacquelyn), and Andrew Gillitzer. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son Michael.

A private graveside service will be held in the Bagley Cemetery.
