Kenneth Charles Stram, age 77 of Prairie du Chien passed away Friday, January 26, 2024, at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien. He was born in Prairie du Chien on February 21, 1946, the son of Charles and Roselyn (Shulka) Stram. Kenny went to St. Gabriel’s Catholic School, then Prairie du Chien High School for a short time before beginning his working career. At the age of 16, he moved to Rockford, IL for work and later moved to California where he lived for 10 years. He worked as a machinist and enjoyed scuba diving. He then moved back to Prairie du Chien where he enjoyed frog and racoon hunting, and turtle hooking with his family. Ken worked at Bituma for a few years and later as an iron worker until his health forced him to retire. Kenny loved woodworking and made beautiful treasures for family and friends. Kenny had a big heart and was quick witted. He is survived by his son Scott Stram of Cochrane, WI; 2 brothers Roger (Jeanne) and Donnie (Janet) Stram, both of Prairie du Chien; 2 sisters Karen Boom of Polo, IL, and Bonnie (Gerry) Lansing of McGregor, IA; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, siste Ruth Lessard, and brother David Stram.
A Memorial Service will be Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 12:00 P.M. at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel in Prairie du Chien, with private inurnment at a later date. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.
