Larry W. Dahman

Larry W. Dahman, age 78 of Prairie du Chien passed away Sunday, March 5, 2023, at Gundersen Health System in LaCrosse, WI. He was born May 3, 1944, the son of Wilfred and Virginia (Kavon) Dahman. He grew up in Prairie du Chien where he graduated from Prairie du Chien High School with the class of 1962. Larry married Sharon Schultz on February 6, 1965, at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Prairie du Chien. Together, they raised their family in Prairie du Chien. Larry worked with Hiram Walker Company in Prairie du Chien before going to work with the 3M Company where he stayed for 36 years until retirement. After retirement, he worked the family farm where he enjoyed hunting and spending his free time. Larry worked at the Carriage Classic in Prairie du Chien and was an active member of the Holy Family Parish. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Sharon; their children Sam (Piemsiri) Dahman, Traci Chase, Laurel (Shawn) Bittner, and Sue (Eric) Olson; his brother Manwell (Judy) Dahman; a special cousin Jerry Kavon; his grandchildren Zach, Isaiah, Eli, and Ing Dahman, Andrew, Matthew, Adam, and Morgan Chase, Taylor and Jake Bittner, and Benjamin and Katie Olson; and his great-granddaughter Aubree Bittner. He was preceded in death by his parents; three infant sons Timothy, Mark, and Steven Dahman, and his grandson Joseph Chase.  

A Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday, March 9, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Gabriel’s Church of the Holy Family Parish, Msgr. Charles Stoetzel officiating with burial in the Calvary Cemetery, both in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call at the Garrity Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., with the Eagle’s Club Tribute at 6:30 P.M. and a vigil service at 7:00 P.M. Friends may also call at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of departure for church.
