Lawrence "Larry" Dale Deluhery passed away unexpectedly at his home on January 7, 2026. He was born to Dale and Margaret (Dawson) Deluhery on August 24, 1952. Larry graduated from Prairie du Chien High School. He married Debra Buerger on February 14, 1976. They later divorced. Larry worked for A.W. Thompson Co. as a livestock nutritionist and as the company president. In one year, 95% of the DHIA high production awards given in Clayton County, IA. went to Larry's dairy clients. Larry was a officer on the Prairie du Chien police department. He owned and trained the first K-9 drug dog used in the city. He went on to be the police chief of Ferryville, WI., where he made many lifelong friends. In later years, he transported train crews across the country. This was work he truly enjoyed. In his free time Larry enjoyed racquetball, hunting, collecting guns, playing cards and his cocker spaniels. Proud of his Irish heritage, he did extensive research about the Dawson and Deluhery ancestors in Ireland and their new lives in America. Larry is proceeded in death by his grandparents, parents, and several aunts and uncles. He is survived by his sisters Ann and Kathleen; brother Tim Sr. and nephew Tim Jr. Thank you to all those that responded and provided aid. Your professionalism and support will never be forgotten.
A private family service will be held at a later time.
