Lenora Heilmann Obituary

Lenora Ann Skaife Heilmann passed away on December 29, 2021, surrounded by family and her beloved companion Daisy Mae. She was born November 25, 1931, to John Manley Skaife and Mildred Anna Turner Skaife. Lenora attended Lancaster School. She married Robert Heilmann June 10, 1950. To this union 3 sons were born. Charles, Terry and Douglas. They later divorced. She worked at 3M, retiring with 22 years of service. Lenora was very artistic and talented. She enjoyed drawing and painting, planting and watching her flowers grow. She never saw a flower she didn’t love. Another pastime she enjoyed very much was going to the Casino and years ago to the dog track. She also enjoyed most of the game shows on TV. Lenora loved to dance.

Surviving Lenora includes her sons Charles (Linda) Cobb, WI, and Douglas (Vicki) Heilmann Monona IA, daughter-in-law Donna Heilmann Prairie du Chien, WI. Grandchildren: Amy (Allen Zirk) Kendall, Wi, Nathan Heilman (Rita) Montfort, WI, Lisa Heilmann (Mike Brown) Mt Hope, WI, Paul Heilmann (Andrea) Prairie du Chien, WI and Jacob Heilmann Lacrosse, WI. Step grandkids: Kristi Havens (Mark) Marshalltown, IA, Heath Landt (Chris) Monona, IA, Preston Landt (Sophie) Monona, IA. great grandchildren: Ky Kline (Amber Tieman) Prairie du Chien, WI, Jordan Kline, Clermont, IA and Alliyah Schissell, Prairie du Chien; Eli Heilmann, Dylan Heilmann, Ella Heilmann Prairie du Chien, WI; Nolan Heilmann, Eben Heilmann, Mallory Heilmann Montfort, WI; Max Zirk and Jon Zirk, Kendall, WI. step great grandkids: Trent Landt (Andrea) Monona, IA, Ryne Landt, McGregor, IA; Layla Landt, Monona, IA and Bree Havens Marshalltown, IA. step great- great grandkids: Benjamin Gordon, Monona, IA and Lyric Tieman Prairie du Chien, WI. Also surviving, her sister-in-law Leola Skaife, a very special significant other and best friend, Aubrey Blackburn, Fennimore, her beloved companion Daisy Mae, and many, many nieces and nephews.

Lenora preceded in death by her ex-husband, Robert Heilmann; her son, Terry Heilmann; sister Helen (Skaife) Pace, brothers Richard, Raymond, Laverne, Robert, Lawrence, and Jackson Skaife, Walter Dressen, sister-in-law Marlene Skaife, and her parents John Manley Skaife and Mildred Anna Turner Skaife Kirshbaum.

According to Lenora’s wishes there will be no formal funeral service. A Celebration of Lenora’s Life will take place at a later date. The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.
