Mark T. Martin, 87, of Eastman passed to his eternal rest on September 17th, 2021 at the Prairie Maison. He was born February 15, 1934, to William and Loretta (Boylen) Martin on the family farm in Eastman township. He was the fourth of eight children. He graduated from Seneca High School in 1952. He spent time in the army from 1954-56. When asked what he fought, his reply was mosquitos in Guam. Upon his return to the United States, he bought a farm in Eastman township. Mark married Barbara Breuer on June 14, 1969, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Glen Haven, WI. He worked at John Deere in Dubuque and 3M in Prairie du Chien. Mark's life revolved around his Faith, Family, Farm and Fun. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus dedicated to parish functions and charities. He loved to travel and took his family to the East and West coasts by Amtrak and Planes. Mark and Barbara enjoyed international traveling with a guide, spiritual director and many fellow pilgrims. They visited and prayed at Marian and Eucharistic shrines and learned about the saints and cultures of many countries. The following places hold many happy memories: Portugal, Spain, France, England, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Switzerland, The Holy Land, Canada and Mexico. He was a dedicated family farmer and worked hard to keep the families on the farms through the organization of the National Farmers Organization. He played ball with his whole heart and enjoyed coaching the young men. He enjoyed walking and picking up garbage as he walked. Mark is survived by his wife Barbara (Breuer) of 52 years; his children Tom (Sharon), Fr Samuel, Judy (Ron) Mims, Theresa (Laural) Kvistad and Peter (Theresa); his brothers; Ray (Luella) and Ed (Priscilla), his sisters; Marcie Campbell and Elaine Magdalenski, seventeen grandchildren include: Gabriel, Zach, Nate, Jacob and Joshua Martin; John and Andrew Mims; Alex (Ian) Schultz (Kvistad) and Sam Kvistad; Gregory, Louis, Leonardo, Emmanuel, Damian, Anthony, Therese and Charles Martin. Three Great Grandchildren are McKenna, Amelia and Jude Schultz along with many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Fr. Samuel Martin and Fr. Rajan Anandan concelebrating with burial in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, both in Eastman, WI. Friends may call at the Garrity Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. with a rosary by the Holy Trinity Knights of Columbus at 3:45 P.M. Friends may also call at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services. Military honors will be accorded graveside. In lieu of flowers please donate to Mark's favorite charities of St. Joseph's Indian School and St. Wenceslaus Parish. The family is grateful to the staff members of Crossing Rivers Hospice and the Prairie Maison for their loving care of Mark during his final time here on earth. There will be a recording of Mark's services on his tribute wall.
